eufy Video Doorbell C31

I’ve used other product from eufy on and off for a while so I was familiar with their software prior to obtaining this doorbell camera. Their app is solid with good connectivity to the video and audio streams via WiFi or 4G/5G connections.The camera itself is good quality. All fixtures are included in the box to get you up and running and the app pairing process is pretty straight forward. As for sound quality, this is rather good too, with clear two-way communication abilities. We live on quite a busy street so being able to hold a conversation using this is quite impressive.I’m just as impressed with this doorbell as I am with the other devices in the eufy range. There are better doorbell cameras out there although one brand seems to have cornered the market rather well. I’ll leave you to make your mind up on the brand I’m talking about, but given the price of this model and the features it supports, all without an enforced monthly/annual fee, it’s worthy of a 5 star rating from me.

From the moment I unboxed it, I could tell this was a well-thought-out product.Installation was a breeze. I'm no tech wizard, but I had this thing mounted and set up within 30 minutes. I love that it gives you dual power options — I went with the quick-release battery, which makes charging simple and hassle-free. No hardwiring needed unless you really want to go that route.The 2K Full HD video quality is seriously impressive. Faces are crisp, even at night, and the wide-angle view gives me great coverage of my porch and driveway. It also supports 24/7 recording when paired with the HomeBase S380, which is awesome if you want continuous footage rather than just motion-triggered clips.One of my favorite features? The live video call. When someone rings the bell, I can answer in real time right from my phone, just like a FaceTime call. Super convenient when I’m not home.And let’s talk value — no monthly fees. That was a huge selling point for me. With so many security systems nickel-and-diming you with subscriptions, Eufy keeps it simple.In short: great video quality, super easy setup, reliable notifications, and no hidden costs. The C31 strikes a perfect balance between smart features and user-friendliness. Highly recommended!

I had a video door bell, not Ring, so can't actually describe like for like when comparing, but what did put me off was the subscription whereas this eufy version is subscription free. Installation is very easy if you are handy with a set of tools and even easier if you want to use this without wiring up to the mains, however, I would suggest putting in the extra effort to wire this up to the mains as taking this unit off the bracket isn't that easy and I can see why, due to security and is a little fiddly to remove with the supplied pin, whereas if you wire this up, you'll have eliminated the need to ever remove to charge the battery.The view is quite wide, but I had to relocate mine as it was too close to my door pillar, being in a terraced house, I have stone pillars either side and could only see one side whilst the other got blocked, so ended up installing this on the door in the middle. It did mean having a wire running along the inside of the door up to the hinge and then across to the power unit, but it's practical and can see the full width.This unit does work off your wifi, so worth checking you have a decent signal at the door else you may need to relocate the router or get a repeater also.Depending on your wifi signal strength and the speed of your broadband, response time can vary but with my current speed of 80/20, it was almost instant, but if I was to time it, it took between 2 and 4 seconds to pop up on my mobile.I've not setup the alert as we have people walking by all the time and I'd probably get constant alerts throughout the day so have skipped this setup.Overall I'm quite pleased with this.

I like this doorbell a lot. It offers good 2K video quality night and day. Good settings on the app. All in all, happy with the purchase, and it goes well with my E330 dual camera setup.

Fitted this with no hassle and it’s been working solidly since. The picture is sharp even at night, which helps when it’s dark outside the front. I don’t always answer the live call straight away, but the recordings have been clear every time I’ve checked. Useful to know who’s been around when I’ve missed deliveries. The app connection hasn’t dropped once, and the alerts come through pretty quickly. Battery life’s holding up well so far. Sound’s clear on both ends too, no weird echoes or distortion. Didn’t need to mess with anything after installation, just did a few test calls and it was good to go. A simple and reliable bit of kit that doesn’t draw attention to itself but does the job.

Feels like a proper upgrade from the usual buzzer-style systems. Setup didn’t take long, and once it was up, the convenience became clear. The real-time connection has been solid so far, and I like being able to see and speak without delays. Even when away from home, the alerts have helped keep an eye on things. The image quality is decent in all lighting, and it’s reassuring to have footage saved when something happens near the door. Battery life is solid, and I’ve only charged it once since I installed it. No hiccups with notifications, and I’ve tested it under different conditions without issue.

The Eufy doorbell is great.It has a better angle and better view as well as night vision.It can be a prerecorded voice for automatic answers or the preinstalled voice.Very easy to install, charge the battery or insert the memory card.The functions are very easy and the secuty log footage is encriptted. Quality of the cameras is great and sound as well.Works well with Alexa video and sound.I didn't have any issues with the connectivity to wifi.The battery seems to maintain the power for longer.At the time of review the price was £89.99 which is a good value for money in my opinion.I hope my pictures and review can help you decide.

I'm coming at this from having a Ring doorbell system, but being fed-up with price increases - which I feel a lot of people will be doing too.This is easily as good (if not better) than the Ring experience when setting up, and for me, the picture quality is far better too. The unit is really smart. It certainly looks the part - better than the ring IMHO. The doorbell is released from the mounting bracket with a simple pin, which is a bit poor, if you ask me - though I did find a tutorial on YouTube showing how to put a security screw into the hole to stop easy removal. Very clever, but it's a shame you need to do that.Image quality is really sharp, both in daylight and at night. Alerts are relatively quick to arrive on your phone, depending on the mode you use to power the device. You can either use the battery or you can 'wire' it into your doorbell supply, which is a great idea.The app is easy to use, quick and very fully featured. Apparently you can buy a 'hub' that this works with. that adds extra functionality to the bell (AI features, etc.) which sounds like it might be worth looking at. I like the way that this is something that can be added separately.So far, I'm really happy with this. From packaging to installation, set up and ongoing use, it seems pretty much bulletproof.100% worth the investment, especially as the opposition would most likely keep increasing subscription costs year on year.
