Working well

I bought these to go with two Solocam C210's as I was often forgetting to take them down and charging them. Installation is simple enough and you get various waterproof grommets to put over the USB connection depending on the camera that you have.

Ideally face these in a Southerly direction but they don't need direct sunlight they just need daylight to start charging. How much charge the camera gets is really dependant on how much activity the camera gets. For example: One of them is in back garden and when I installed the panel the charge on the camera was at 58%, the weather was good which meant there was a lot of activity in the back garden, my wife hanging out washing, the grandchildren playing, etc. With motion detection activated doing 20 second recordings this makes for a lot of recordings and after two weeks the battery level had only increased by 1%, up to 59%.
They do a great job of maintaining the current battery level and a slow job of charging it up, but as I said it really depends on how much activity the camera gets, now that the weather is getting colder I will expect the battery level to increase as activity in the garden decreases.

Are they worth it? In my opinion, yes they are if they can maintain the charge for when you need it most such as any unwanted night time activity.
