eufy Security SoloCam E42 (2-Cam Kit with HomeBase S380)

My first time trying Eufy cameras. Despatch was very speedy. The kit itself is excellent and very easy to set up. I am so impressed, I've bought another 4 cameras, since. .

Having installed and used this eufy Security SoloCam E42 2-Cam and S380 Homebase kit for weeks now I cannot but express how impressed I am with every aspect of this Eufy ecosystem. Starting with the build quality, the cameras are really very well-made. The 2 cameras have an impressive build quality and are made to withstand heavy weather conditions. Above the cams a solar panel can be easily installed. I wish the cable management system was made better but it's not a major issue at all. The panning and tilting feel very smooth and this is a good sign as tilting mechanisms tend to be a major source of issues in tech products.Installation was very smooth. The camera can be installed easily, either directly or using a mount that makes it extend or hang a bit further from the wall.Once unpacked and prepared for installation, it was very easy to connect the cameras to the home base. The HomeBase is the best thing about the camera as it allows for 24/7 recording and storing content. It can be expanded easily in terms of volume, up to 16TB, which is way above my needs. Obviously the storage is 16GB and an external storage drive is needed to expand the initial size.What makes this ecosystem perfect in terms of functionality is how everything communicates with the home base seamlessly. I also installed a Eufy doorbell and added it to the ecosystem easily.In terms of picture quality, these cameras deliver excellent resolution. At 4K they are very good at capturing small details. Compared to my previous system, I can now see the car plates of nearby cars in the street with ease. The resolution does add to my sense of safety and security. The night quality is equally good and something that Eufy managed to nail perfectly.The main and biggest upside of this camera system is the fact that it is subscription free. As the storage is hosted via the home base this means no subscription is needed to access the stored content.All in all, an amazing piece of tech.

Brilliant cameras so easy to set up and fit.Great quality and the picture quality is outstanding would highly recommend these camera's. Also paired with the homebase adds so much more features.I'm really pleased with these and the solar panel works really well even in low light conditions. I also like the AI tracking aswell follows so well.

Ive heard of Eufy, but never entered their ecosystem before and I'm so glad Im in it now! The picture quality is excellent, very clear with plenty of detail and surprisingly great at night too. You can make out details like faces and car number plates instead of just fuzzy vague outlines. The motion tracking is fab too, it follows the movement slowly without a big delay so it can follow your subject as they move around the garden.Set up wasn't too bad, the app pretty much walks you through everything as you go and does it for you. Connecting the cameras to Homebase pod was almost instant too. The solar power panels seem to do a great job at keeping the battery topped up too, I haven't had to manually charge the cameras yet which is useful. Ive got them on the corners of my house as im end terrace, so they can monitor the front and back incase anyone was to pass through ive got 360 coverage of them. The corner doesn't get a lot of sunlight, so during winter months im expecting to need to charge these more frequently.I haven't seen it in motion yet, but the strobe light and siren built into the lights is a great deterrent for burglars. There's facial detection too which works okay, it knows when im approaching my house and can tell whether it's me or not on the cameras.The only downside of this would be the app has a small delay with notifications getting to your phone.. im assuming it's because it has to go from the camera, to the HomePod, to my phone. Its not major but i think its something eufy should work on in an update.Overall, really pleased with these and would 100% recommend!

Easy to set up great image and video quality.Received promptly and well packaged.Quality of the video is an upgrade from my previous model.Home base was 16GB but easy to updated up to 16TB which was pretty easy to do.Battery life ive used for 24 hours only but with built in solar I'm expecting it to last longer than few months before recharging.

Fantastic item. Bought this as an Amazon deal so saved money too. One camera fitted easily direct to a corner of a soffit board of my house and gives full visibility to the front . The second camera needed to be mounted close to a gutter downpipe hence it does obscure visibility a little but the problem is minimised by a bracket that moves the camera away from the soffit by 15 cms which minimises the obstruction.I like the way this uses IR to recognise people,pets or car motion so these can be tailored to your needs regarding what you want to be recorded. This replaced an aging Eufy set up that worked superbly but I took the opportunity to upgrade and modernise.My only little niggle is the plastic brackets that hold the cameras is very flimsy and doesn't make a positive connection to them. I find myself attaching them and then checking several times to make sure they don't pull off easy!Also, you will need to extend the memory of the base unit as it only has 16gb which won't last long with 4k video capture. The upside to that is that a 2.5 inch SATA hard drive will fit within the base unit itself 1TB for around £35.A well recommended purchase especially as once it's fitted correctly, it will work with minor maintenance to clean etc.
