Performed above my expectations

Well, it was early February and after months of research, I took the plunge and bought two of these mowers when the price dropped. I have 4 lawns totaling about 1,200 square meters, but one of them is separated from the others by quite a distance and a couple of steps, so I decided that I would have separate mowers. However, you could just purchase an additional base station from Eufy (which are individually coded so the mower knows where it is), and carry the machine between stations.I was shocked by how easy they were to assemble - Extremely well packaged, with just 4 screws (with hand tightening ability) to hold the top of the charging station in place and that was it.I installed the app and connection was very straightforward, Firmware automatically updated (about 20 mins per machine) and it was off to place the charging stations. I used a breeze block at the rear to hold them in place initially, just in case I needed to change the location, as the three "upper" laws are some distance apart. As it happened I didn't need to. The app controls are sensibly laid out and very intuitive (absolutely no manual reading required)Two of the lawns are in opposite directions from the charging station, which is a little way off the lawns on a patio area, and the other is accessed from one of those two lawns, across the drive. Setting the paths between station and lawns, and between lawns is incredibly easy, using the joystick function on the app. The machine sets off to map the first lawn, returning to base without issue (it is somewhat hypnotic watching it work) I had a couple of areas on each lawn that the machine had avoided, due to bare patches, so I set "must mow" areas up (simples) I did not have to set up any "No mow" or "No go" areas, as it had perfectly mapped the lawn, neatly avoiding borders, but they are equally easy to set. I did have to play with the "Edge spacing" to get it to cut just over the lawn edge, where it runs along the drive. (This is a global setting for the mower, not the individual lawn and I would hope that a future update allows further granularity, as I also have an edge which runs next to gravel, which could be a bit disastrous to the razor blade type cutters) The machines are super quiet and therefore don't disturb anyone (be aware that they do not work until half and hour after sunrise or after half an hour before sunset, which can't be changed) The grass was a good 55mm long and very wet for the first cut, which although the cut was near perfect, left quit a bit of grass cuttings visible on the lawn. I have cut twice since then with the height set (in the app) at 35mm and there are now no visible clippings left and the lawns look pretty good! Being still in February, I thought I would try one test cut today in drizzle, with heavier rain forecast. In the drizzle, it went off to work with no problem, again no evidence of clippings, but when the rain came, it sent me a message saying that rain was detected and it was returning to base. For reference, there is a setting to manually tell it to restart when the rain has stopped or automatically re-try after a set period. Despite the very wet lawns, the machine has not caused any "churning up" when turning at the end of each row, which my petrol ones would most certainly have done. There is an option to set the direction of stripes in the lawn, although this is currently a global setting by machine, which I would hope will be changed to by lawn in a future software update. I currently have it set to "Auto rotate" so each time it cuts, it does so in a different direction, thus removing the repeated turning at the end of each row.In summary then, I am exceedingly happy with these units. Time will tell how they perform into spring and summer seasons, but so far they are well made, quality pieces of kit which have performed above my expectations.

Accurate, Easy-to-use and Amazing!

Like many others, I did a lot of research before investing in a robot mower. It makes sense to, after all, robot lawnmowers cost 4-5x more than a good manual one. I chose the Eufy E15 and it did not disappoint. I was keen to avoid a mower with RTK due to the extra hassle of having to set it up, and I also didn’t want a mower which relied on cables being placed around the boundary of my garden.

Initial Impressions & Setup

The Eufy E15 Robot Mower does away with all the inconvenience and hassle of a long setup. After unboxing, it only took me five minutes to get the docking station/garage installed in my garden and connected to the mains power. The station came with eight large screws that can be wound into the ground by hand and then tightened with the included allen key. The power cord includes a 10m extension cable, which easily allowed me to run it into my garage and around to the dock.

Mapping & Navigation

The Eufy App (which also works with their ecosystem of robot vacuum cleaners and security cameras) allowed for a quick setup, and I was able to run through the initial mapping process of the garden. I suggest manually mowing the lawn before mapping to allow the robot to get a better visual understanding of boundaries, although it’s not entirely necessary.

After it finished its mapping with its array of cameras and sensors, it was ready to perform its first cut. My garden has planters, trees, shrubbery, flowers, rocks, and stones, and I was initially curious about how the mower would handle these obstacles and whether it would cause damage. The mower identified all these obstacles and even plotted them on the map in the Eufy App. It also lets me set manual boundaries and zones for extra peace of mind. Being able to segment the garden into zones is fantastic. I can also set pathways between zones so the mower can run in the back garden, follow the path to the front garden, and mow that zone too!

I think a simple sanity check of your garden to help it out is a good idea. For example, if there are large loose stones that could mess up the blade, it’s worth tidying them away from damaging the robot.

Performance & Features

The mower has three blades on a spinning disk which make the cutting area around 20cm on each pass. The app allows you to configure the height and speed of the spinning disk, as well as how much to overlap each line when it mows back and forth. You can also set the mowing pattern to help encourage growth by not mowing in the same direction every time.

It can be scheduled to run during daylight hours and is quiet enough to run on an early Sunday morning without annoying the neighbours. The battery life is very impressive; it mows my front and back lawns in one charge, which takes almost two hours based on my chosen parameters in the app. The mower comes with a spare set of blades, along with a 2-year warranty for peace of mind.

Final Verdict

Overall, I am very impressed with the Eufy E15 robot mower. The mower itself is solid and well-built, and the app and firmware functionality keep improving. For me, it is a worthwhile investment. Great job, Eufy!

Absobloodylutely amazing - AT LAST

Having had a robot mower for over 18 years and replacing every 3 years I got fed up of rescuing them from the undergrowth and garden borders etc. Laying wires etc. and generally faffing about, always wishing for someone, anyone to make a simple reliable no wire, no RTK aerial, NO FAFFING ABOUT mower which would drive from one lawn to another without any issues. EUFY have done it. This is without a doubt the most innovative, completely faff free perfect one. UNBELIEVABLY BRILLIANT and VERY CLEVER design and APP.... All perfect. Stop faffing about trying to decide which one is best and just be amazed. It's taken over 18 years for simple common sense to tell the boffins exactly what was needed!

Best decision

The design feels modern and smart, and the AI features are very futuristic.

It cuts my grass evenly, and the patterns it leaves behind look beautiful and professional. I even placed it in the farthest corner of my backyard where the Wi-Fi signal is usually weak, but it still connected without any issues. The performance is impressive, and while I know there are other big names in the market, this one definitely stands out.

Works brilliantly! No regrets.. and fun to watch sipping large V & T’s

Excellent! Wow! An a amazing bit of kit that saves backache, time and effort. Does exactly what you want it to do without any fuss. I must admit, though, as my husband is a techie, we or he found it easy to programme.. I would have struggled. Cuts grass, avoids obstacles and dogs, and just does its thing! Brilliant. No regrets here and we are all exceedingly pleased with the time it gives, saves us. I bought this product because I have Eufy vacuum cleaners and their customer service is exemplary. Would give 10* if possible. Life, time is so precious, why spend hours mowing when this robo can do it without fuss or effort. Fabulous!

Brilliant

I was initially sceptical about this product but I needn’t have worried. I have a complicated lawn layout covering around 500 square metres and was uncertain about the mower being able to cope with the various sections. The set up was really straightforward and within an hour I had set the robot off on its ‘mapping’ journey. It took the mower 98 minutes to map the lawn and it completed the task without issue. To be honest, I was gobsmacked at its attention to detail. Following this the lawn was mowed, taking around two hours. I rarely leave reviews but this item has quite simply blown my mind. It’s absolutely amazing.

Honestly brilliant stripe making, boundary wire free mower

Honestly- she’s awesome. This was an upgrade from a Landroid with radar that kind of just bounced against a boundary wire. The eufy maps the lawn perfectly with no wire- you decide what orientation you want your stripes in, set the height in app and away she goes.It is great- and the fact you can drop in live to the vision camera on the robot has given me a whole new appreciation of the lawn from a dogs height view!So easy to put together with no wite, not much bigger than my old Landroid- but so well though out (even has a handle), beautifully made and for what it’s doing happy with the price- you can buy cheaper, but not as good (love my stripes)
