Fantastic security camera

I have upgraded a number of Blink cameras to this model. The AI tracking and range of movement is such that I have mounted the camera on the corner and it covers by movement tracking what 2 seperate cameras used to cover. It is also significantly better quality in the dark. I was so impressed I bought another straight away.

Great camera for the money and solar charging works well

This is a terrific little security camera that offers a lot of features for not very much of your money and is ideal if you are on a budget or have a small property or area you want to secure.Very easy to setup and install, it's very lightweight so it's easy to mount and the solar panel can be attached to it or can be installed near it where it might better get the sun.The motion detection and picture quality are great and the field of view is excellent and it tracks quickly.I have had a solar powered camera before but it started struggling during the short days of the Scottish winter however this has been fine and the battery has never flagged. That said it is in a back garden where it is not being triggered often, if you had it at the front of the house looking at a street then it might struggle though you can buy bigger panels.I already have Eufy doorbells so I am used to the software though I do think its pretty easy to use though does have a few quirks but it's easy to use and fairly intuitive and offers good functionality. The camera will work fine on it's own with a memory card installed and there is no monthly subscriptions to pay.If you can afford it though I would recommend the Homebase unit though as this adds a lot of great features like facial recognition etc though it's not essential.Bang for buck this is a great little camera and Eufy are improving their home security setup and hardware all the time

How good the make are

Best camera I can find from web site it very easy to setup without any problem just use the micro sd card rather subscription these the best one I can find the video it 4K and zoom which it good plus got solar panel to keep in charge and it still 100% for 4 weeks now, WiFi no problem I didn’t need a S380 Homebase because I used micro sd card instead and got these lovely alarm and flashing lights on these camera it really very loud by using the app on phone if anyone came near my property and click alarm to make them run away, I get notifications pop on my phone app to let me know if anyone here also gone out for a day that no problem so am happy with now I just brought another one more for the front of theproperty.

Eufy Security SoloCam E42

I requested it because I am already very familiar with the Eufy ecosystem and use two of the brand's security cameras regularly. I was hoping this one would help cover a blind spot in my outdoor area, especially since it has pan-and-tilt capabilities. It is a high-quality, comprehensive kit that is relatively easy to set up. Since I already had the Eufy app, pairing the camera was quick. I also use the HomeBase S380, so I opted to use that as the connection point and recording base for any captured footage. The picture quality is good, with clear, sharp images and sound colour reproduction both day and night. It also has a wide field of view, with smooth pan and tilt, providing extra coverage where needed (I have mounted it on the corner of my outside wall, which allows me to see the back garden and the side of the house - something I couldn't do with two fixed position cameras).Motion detection works well and sends a notification to my phone within seconds of being triggered. The sensitivity has a good amount of adjustability. Sometimes, the Eufy AI can get things wrong (e.g., telling me that a 'human' was detected when in fact it was a cat), but you can feed back these errors through the app and help the AI learn. The battery life is excellent; I've had the camera running continuously for at least a month, and it's still going strong. Even in low-light conditions, the solar charger still powers the camera and keeps it ticking over.In summary, a useful and good value item.

Security camera

A very good security camera and easy to set up, either independently or with a Eufy homebase unit.

Impressive battery

I have a full eufy ecosystem, however all my cameras are hardwired. So I was looking forward to trying the solar powered option. So far I've been very impressed, I initially tried this indoors (but next to a window so it still got sun), it worked great for watching pets and is quite manoeuvrable. I then put it outside to cover the back garden (I mounted with a third party rain pipe adaptor). Even in low light and miserable weather, im yet to run out of battery in the 3 weeks I've been using it. As with all Eufy products I've had the build quailty is good and feels solid. Picture quailty is impressive for the price point and notifications can be changed depending on how often you want to be alerted. The app is brilliant, intuitive and easy to set up and pair. You can add storage via a card if needed. Overall, a great option for somwhere where you might not have power or the knowledge to hardwire. Very happy

Impressive camera with minor flaws

A bit of peace of mind now sits in the palm of my hand thanks to the SoloCam E42. This weather-sealed bullet camera records in native 4K, can spin a full 360 degrees, tilt up and down, blast a 103 dB siren with a strobe light, and keep its clips on board, with space for up to 128 GB or as much as 16 TB if it is paired with a HomeBase S380. Power comes from the small solar panel on its roof, and in my experience two good hours of Scottish sunshine are enough to keep it going. In daylight the picture is remarkably sharp, and number plates are readable at roughly ten metres. After dark, the built-in LEDs keep faces clear, although the edges of the frame can blur a little. The artificial-intelligence tracking usually ignores swaying branches, yet the occasional nosy seagull still manages a cameo appearance. Pan and tilt motors react in less than a second, although the companion application sometimes leaves me staring at a loading screen for five or six. The strobe is savage at dusk but loses some bite under full midday sun. Three persistent weeks of drizzle in Aberdeen left the battery at about sixty per cent, which seems honest enough.Solid construction and fee-free local storage justify the asking price. If the application felt snappier and a micro-SD slot had been included, I would have struggled to find fault at all.
